Synopsis
The video Embrace, which is part of Time and the Other (exhibition and book), is a single shot of a couple in an urban landscape. As the camera gets closer, instead of providing further informations, the shot becomes more and more abstract. The concept of Embrace, like that of Replay (2000), is based on the ambiguity and violence projected onto any act, at that singular instant when the real and the non-real are indiscernible. In this short video, we are never sure whether the couple is fighting or embracing.
La vidéo Etreinte qui fait partie de L’autre et le temps (exposition et livre), est un plan unique montrant un couple dans un paysage urbain. A mesure que la caméra se rapproche, nous n’avons pas plus d’informations, bien au contraire, la scène devient de plus en plus abstraite. Le concept d’Etreinte, comme celui de Replay (2000), repose sur l’ambiguité et la violence projetée en une action quelconque, à cet instant singulier où, le réel et la fiction sont indiscernables. Dans cette vidéo, nous ne sommes jamais certains de savoir si le couple s’affronte ou s’étreint. |
