Synopsis
Filmed in Beirut in the early 90’s (after the Lebanese war officially ended),
Untitled 1997-2003 aims to reflect on the process of memory and narration.
Those images and sounds are memory (as they are recorded), as well as fictions (when recreated through diverse transformations). They appear as reminiscences.
They are worked from and within their texture and medium, (video tracking and colors, sound frequency and levels, etc.). Abstracted, decomposed and transformed, they are often at the frontier between being identifiable and totally losing their origin, hence reaching a contemplative dimension. We are here in a space of continuity and rupture at the same time.
Filmée à Beyrouth au début des années 90 (après la fin officielle de la guerre),Sans-titre 1997-2003 explore le processus de mémoire et le récit.
Ces sons et images sont mémoire (de part leur enregistrement) et fictions (lorsque recréés à travers de multiples transformations). Travaillés dans leur texture, (tracking vidéo, couleurs, fréquences et niveaux de sons, etc.) ils apparaissent comme des réminiscences. Abstraits, décomposés, transformés, Ils se trouvent ainsi à la frontière entre perdre leur origine, et rester identifiables; accédant ainsi à une dimension contemplative. Nous sommes ici à la fois dans un espace de continuité et de rupture.
