Description

Upon arrival in Bater the audience first enters the front garden where a video installation and a soundtrack (Soapkills) are presented. This first video shows fragments of the dancers' bodies in movement during rehearsals, (back, neck, arms, etc.) projected on a round screen, placed in the middle of a pool under the trees. People walk around the pool and garden, taking in the surroundings. They are given a moment to adjust themselves to environment.

The audience then enters the interior of the house. As they arrive in a room with arched high ceilings, Yasmine Hamdane performs a song a cappela, while behind her appears a circular projection showing elements of the garden surrounding the house (water, fish, trees, etc.)

In a second wider room, the dancers perform their movements while the audience roam freely in the space, interacting and mixing with them.

The performance then continues in the lower garden. A more traditional stage and seating area are set against the backdrop of the valley.

The main performance (4 dancers) takes place, while videos showing some of the dancers' movements are projected directly on trees at different distances in the garden, creating a continuity and rupture of their movements and of the space. These movements can be at times identifiable, at other times, appear like abstract colored shapes and light.
